I have R-11 faced & appx 4 inches of blown.
I am told that adding R-30 might be wasting my $ ,as there becomes a point when its no longer effective.
How much extra should I add ? R-13 or R-20
Thanks,
Lynn

Depends where you live.
As you add more, the savings definately minimizes. Recommended ranges from R13 to R40.
There should be some posts in the forum with a link to the DOE's recommended amts based on region.

Go to http://www.owenscorning.com/worldwide/canada/HowTo.asp?HowToID=1&Language=1 to learn about insulation. Click the Insulation Calculator and submit your ZIP for recommendations for amount of insulation.
