I read your FAQ and saw information about "soaking and scraping" wallpaper, but nothing about using a streamer. Did I overlook something?

Are streamers a waste of time and money?

If the walls are drywall, yes.
If the walls are plaster, no.

Just out of curiosity, what happens when using a streamer on wallpaper over drywall?

Thanks!

A good possibilty of wetting the drywall facing, causing delamination from the gypsum layer.

:o i had flocked (fuzzy) wallpaper in all the hallways of the main floor of my house. i tried a variety of methods to remove it, but it was like it was painted on! i resorted to buying a steamer, even tho i have drywall, and both the fuzzy layer and adhesive layer came off MUCH easier. i don't think i damaged the drywall; i tried not to hold it on the wall for any longer than necessary to dampen the wallpaper.

my 2 cents worth
