Moisture barrier for a plywood subfloor?

Then one place I believe I read, said you should not install mositure barrier with plywood. Is this true? I would want to install a some sort of sound barrier, so would that in itself would be enough?

I have been doing a lot more research and I was orignally choosing between, Alloc Original, WilsonArt Classic Planks and Pergo Select. I would prefer a flooring that is HPL because it is supposed to be more dent resistant. However, from my research I am getting wary of Allocs locking system (gaps between planks), and WilsonArts Tap and Lock system is not my ideal install choice. So seem to be heading towards the Pergo Select.

Are there any other choices that are HPLs?

Not too worried about scratches, dents would be the real concern. Other then that a nice looking floor and the less visable the seems the better in my opinion.

The only other thing I read somewhere was that some of the higher AC ratings are sometimes actually abraisive. Read that some people have their socks start to wear away on some AC5 floors. THe pergo select is an AC5, anyone heard of this?

Thanks in advance everyone

i am also considering pergo select. what do you all think of this laminate?

it has also been recommended to me to use 6mm cork as an underlayment... any opinions either way on this?
