there is no easy way. done it once before...first tried adhesive stripper, but was a huge mess. ended up tearing out what I could with pliers and using a wide and sharp chisel and hammer to get all the glue up. be ready for the concrete to be discolored and splotchy - probably have to paint or cover with tile.

I have found that ordinary lighter fluid works best for getting the old glue off of basement floors. The carpet has to be ripped up by hand, then soak the adhesive with lighter fluid and let it sit for a few minutes. Then scrape up the adhesive with a large scraper. Obviously, no open flames or smoking while you're doing this.

Thansk so much for the ideas!!! Once the carpet is up is there an easy way (ha, I wish right?) to remove the discoloration? Maybe patch or re-pour some concrete over it to restore it? It is a small porch 2 1/2 X 3 feet by the front door and three smaller steps. I feel like I should be playing golf!! Thanks again.
