Could anyone tell me whether the insurance card is compulsory for all the states? I mean to say if I purchase an insurance policy(any kind) need I to bear the insurance card? Or the companies are bound to give me the card? Thanks.

Proof of insurance is not required in all states, just as insurance itself is not required in all states. Call your local DMV office for info on your particular state.

Here in Arkansas, you are required to have in your possession, proof of insurance. It can be a card from the insurance company or the CURRENT policy. If you cannot produce this type of proof at the time of a traffic stop they will site you for not having insurance and you get to go to court to prove you have it. Court costs are a lot more expensive than carrying the card/policy. Good luck.

I don't have a list, but here in Wisconsin you are not required to have insurance. Interesting to me, we have a higher percentage of drivers who do have insurance compared to Minnesota, where it is required.

Dang, thats unreal being able not to have insurance.. But that is only if the car is paid off right? Surely banks won't let you get away with not having insurance.

Dont't know about that one, I've never financed a car. That would be a good one to check with your lending institution.
