:o I have a large yellow discolored area on kitchen linoleum floor.
I have not had a rug on it, just a container/box that sat for a long time before and after the three hurricanes last year, and am hoping some one will be able to help with with a way to clean it off.....I am in an apartment, so I can't replace it. If I am not able to clean it off, then I am sure my deposit will be used to do it..

but hopefully someone will be able to help..

thanks

Usually these types of stains are permanent. What happens is there is a polymer transfer with various materials including rubs, plastics and a few other items. Basicly the polymers migrate from the object into the lino itself. Stripping and finishing the floor with floor finish. May help the look of it. But i think its permanent. This can happen due to mositure being trapped in between the object and floor. Mostly you see this with plastic bags and mats.
