I have a client with a huge home and she has hardwood floors, wall to wall. Currently, I am required to manuallt sweep the floors with a broom and then manually clean/polish the floors with a rectangular flat mop (hardwood floor mop) in conjunction with a spray on cleaner. It is taking me about 2.5 hours and is back breaking work. Sweep, spray, mop.....over and over. Is there an easier way? She is looking for suggestions as well. This is all she has ever known and I have never cleaned them either, so I'm going strictly on what she was able to provide. Help!

Hardwood flooring, unless it is dirty, only requires occasional damp mopping. Make sure you use a cleaner that is labeled 'safe for polyurethane finish.' Many cleaners contain ingredients such as waxes or oils that can soften and dull finish over time. A little water misted on a cotton dust mop is effective for dusting wood floors. Treated dust mops and dusting spray products are not recommended. High traffic areas may require daily dusting to keep grit off floors.
