Marine: Boating, Sailing, PWC, GPS and Navigation - Winterizing Kawasaki Jetski

I have a 10 year old Kawaski jetski. Can you tell me winterize it? If details are provided similar to the "Winterize Inboard Engine Boat" thread that would be appreciated.

Pretty much the same... Put gas stabilizer in the tank and run the engine for a while to get "stabilized gas" into the carb and fuel system. If you do this "out of the water" remember to run water through the engine to avoid overheating.... also make sure you get water into the impeller intake to avoid melting your wear ring (how many people melt those up by running their impeller dry?). Drain the water lines, including the water in the block..... Remove the spark plugs and spray/squirt lubricant (WD40 or oil) into the cylinders - just enough to coat the cylinder walls.... crank the engine without the plugs to spread the lube around. Take out the battery and store it in a relatively warm place - preferably on a slow trickle charger to keep it charged. Next spring - put the battery back in.... and have fun.

Do you use the same procedure for two-stroke and 4-stroke engines? The jetski has a two-stroke engine.

Exactly the same.... the idea is to get water out to avoid freezing... get the gas stabilized to avoid deterioration..... get the cylinders lubed to avoid rusting........ and get the battery out to avoid it going flat.
