Hate to tell you this but there are no filters for outdoor units. Maybe some sort of fence to keep the dog away would help. Since I don't live in cottonwood country, I don't know what to say about them other than I have read on another board where guys use a torch with a flame spreader on them to burn off the cottonwood seeds.

I'm with the others. You just have to keep on top of it. Hose that baby down good once a week and it wont get so bad.

If those are the filters that wrap around the condensor, you are just asking for trouble. In most instances they cause a restriction by themselves and strain the compressor.

Hey if you think cottonwood is hard on a condenser. We have had years that the yellow oak pollen was so bad that it made all the AC condensers go off on high head. Im thinking my techs over charged them when they checked them out . But after we hosed them down the charge was right on the money. like said hose them down about every week at that time of year. Or can you plant bushes around them about 18" to 24" away from them . This could help. But dont try and put a filter around it thats for sure
