I am updating my home in every room. I have picked out my new bathroom furnishings. I have always used my shower curtain with my liner together on one rod. My sister uses 2 rods-1 for the line and 1 for the curtain. I'm not sure I want to go the way of using 2 rods. Which way is considered to be deco savy?

Deco savvy? Hee! Truly, forget about that! Your real consideration simply needs to be what will function best for YOU and your needs. Not what anyone else is doing.
We've personally (in my own home) done it both ways. When the kids were younger, and I wanted to be able to hide the tub during the day yet see into it (but keep splashing to a minimum) when the kids were in the tub, we used the 2-rod method. That way I could use a clear liner & see into the tub.
Nowadays? We don't need to do that, the kids are older & mostly take showers. We have both liner/curtain on one, single rod.
The other consideration? If you're using a dark curtain & one rod, it can get dark inside the tub/shower when you're bathing. If you care about this, you might want to consider 2 rods, and then use a non-clear liner (if you still want some privacy while bathing).
Hope this helps!

sometimes, the outer decorative curtain is fairly fancy & heavy and maybe meant to be stationary. i've seen some with valances and 2 panels each pulled back to the sides with tiebacks. these types are not meant to be moved, and therefore would require a 2nd rod with a movable liner. maybe that's what your sister has?
or maybe your sister wants each curtain to hang perfectly straight and so she spaces them apart the same distance as the width of the side of the tub?
or like Carly said - if the dec curtain is dark, and you don't have a light right over the tub, then it would help brighten up the area to use 2 rods & only pull closed a clear liner while showering.
but if you're just using a regular plain shower curtain and liner, i'd put them both on one rod & slide them both back & forth together. why have 2 when 1 functions just fine? just place the rod so that the outer decorative curtain is hanging perfectly straight.
definitely no "deco savvy rule" about this........do whatever works for your situation at the time!

Thanks for your help. I decided to use the 1 rod for both.
