i AM IN THE PROCESS OF INSTALLING LAMINATE FLORING IN MY HOUSE. iN MY L/R I RAN IT IN THE DIRECTION THAT WOULD GO STRAIGHT DOWN THE HALLWAY (oops caps locked) but as i get passed a hall closet that is to the left of the L/R and around the corner right before the hallway there was vinyl flooring that we took up and will continue with laminate to the front door which is approx. 8ft.by4ft. Would it look alright if I would continue in the same pattern to the front door which would run the 4ft across instead off length wise with the 8ft other wise would have to do a transition strip with a offset wall to change direction.
This is all hard to explain hope you can visualize Good,LOL.
Thanks,
Jeff

Yes it is perfectly acceptable to railroad track an installation.

I was wondering what you meant by railroad tracking, does this mean it is o.k. to go across the hallway instead of lengthwise (in entry way).
Thanks,
Jeff

Correct. It would look dumb, if you had a transition molding across it.
