What would be the best way to remove the pad that is glued to the hardwood floor.

I have scraped the pad off but the glue is still there. I don't want to ruin the finish which is still decent. What type of product should I use to get the remaining pad/glue off without ruining the finish.

Underpad that is stuck on it's own is usually a result of spills on the carpet. You should be able to soak these off with a towel and warm water. Be careful to wring out the towel and only soak the padding. Apply just enough moisture to loosten the padding. I'd use a plastic "putty knife" to scrape it off. They won't harm the finish.
As far as the adhesive goes, use Varsol or paint thinner and pleanty of rags. Pour the varsol onto the rag, NOT directly on the floor. This takes some time but will not harm the floor. Make sure you wipe off any excess liquid with another clean rag.
This takes time, but will remove the adhesive and not harm the floor if your patient.
