does anyone know a method of removing melted candle wax from carpet?

The easiest and fastest way I know to do this is with an old WHITE towel and a steam iron.
Put distilled water in the iron and put it on the lowest heat setting that will give you steam.
Place one edge of the towel over the wax and put the iron on top of the towel. Make sure the iron doesn't touch the carpet directly. Leave over the wax no longer that 5 seconds.
Lift the iron and towel off the wax spot. Wait 30 seconds, re-position a new clean spot of the towel over the wax and apply the iron again.
Repeat till all the wax is gone. If there is a lot of wax on the carpet, this will take several applications. DON'T do more than three times before you let the carpet cool completely. If you attach it too often, you run the risk of melting the carpet.
Good luck. Patience is the key word here.
