I salvaged a friend's fir flooring before he tore down his house and intend to install it in my house. It's not in great shape, so I'll be taking it down to wood. Is it best to just install it and then sand it down or should I plane/sand it individually b/f installation?

Sometimes it has to be remilled. It just depends on the damage done during removal or previous sanding.
