This is the stock item at the big orange box. This would be to install pergo presto over plywood subfloors.

Not for your situation. It isn't advised to used the 2-n-1(has the moisture barrier and cushion) over wood. You don't want a moisture barrier over wood. All you need is the undercushion. Unless it has the attached cushion.

Thanks Perry. Could you suggest a brand that I could purchase at either HD or Lowe's? Or a link to somewhere that has what I need? I'm thinking Pergo Soundbloc Underlay? I can't see shelling out 70/roll for the SilentStep.

Both HD and Lowes' only have this 2-n-1, and it even says on the package to use with wood floors. The other foam they have was pink and looked kinda cheap.
