I have an Admeco 5890PI wireless PIR in a bedroom in which the batteries only last about 4 weeks each time I replace them. The room has a ceiling fan and the alarm company told me that the only thing that can be done to make the batteries last longer is to not run the ceiling fan. I was considering removing the batteries from this motion detector on a nightly basis since that is the only time that we run the ceiling fan and we bypass this motion detector anyway becasue it is in a bedroom. Any other suggestions or solutions? Thanks.

It's a wireless motion. Mount it in another room or hallway that doesn't have a ceiling fan.

Bypassing does you no good. It only keeps the system from reacting to signals from the motion. The motion is still going to keep reacting to the fan motion and run down it's battery, and simply removing the battery puts a tamper on the system (ademco wireless devices have to "check in" with the reciever every so often).

Also check the jumber pins. There should be two sets of them. If you look on the inside of the cover, there is a little drawing. What we want to do is turn off the LED light. That will make the batteries last a lot longer.
