I am want to put down an Armstrong Laminate Wood floor, but have heard of others having trouble with pet stains, children's pull toys scratching it, liquid spills ruining it. Can you tell me what you think about this product (which has a 25 year warranty) and placing it in a living room with high traffic, pets, and children? Also, what you know about the warranty and how well it is honored? Thanks so much!

well in my opinion, there are a few good selling points for laminate. first the boards are (in most cases) easily replacable if something happens to it. also, if you buy a high quality laminate, it is NOT easy to damage. once again im gonna recommend quick step, wilson art, or shaw brands. these are my favorite if you ask me! quick step with the 4 sided bevel will last you forever! :) :)
now as far as the warranty goes. armstrong has a 25 year warranty? im really surprised at that.... havent seen that before. but i have seen armstrong floors before!!! (my best friends dad tried to install one himself, and is buckled everywhere) but he installed if very wrong. it probably would have done it with any laminate. anyway on to your question. with any brands warranty you usually have to do EVERYTHING perfect. if your installing it yourself, consider that impossible. but if you wanna go for it, just follow their printed directions PERFECTLY. if one things off, your done for. this is why if people are worried about a warranty, they shouldnt think about installing it themselves, because if you pay someone to install it, you should be covered no matter what. also, im assuming your going through lowes. i recommend buying wood online (like ifloors.com) and then paying a proffesional to install it. that will be the cheapest thing for you.

I agree with rev3lati0n.
Your seeing 25 year warranty, but have you actually read what that warranty covers and doesn't cover.
Last I read it only covers you wearing through the surface from normal traffic, in 25 years. Then they will pay you back for the individual bad planks that didn't last that long.
It is only a marketing ploy, nothing less, nothing more. It is one of those meaningless warranties. Now delamination is the same way, they will pay you back for the bad plank.
