Hi,
I'm looking for a wireless home security system that can fit the following lay-out:
Basement - has eight (8) windows and one (1) entry door, plus one interior motion detector.
Living Level - has ten (10) windows and three (3) entry doors, plus one or two motion detectors.
Upstairs - has at least three (3) windows that would definitely need coverage, but potentially an additional eight (8) windows.
I'm looking for wireless, since I don't want the hassle of running wire all over the place. Please advise if you have a system that can meet my needs, and/or any alternatives. Thanks.
Henry

You are looking for a wireless system that will handle about 30 transmitters (the number can be reduced because most wireless transmitters can use external contacts to cover multiple sashes in a mullioned window set.)
However we can use 30 for a good base number.
The GE/ITI Concord Ultra will handle 96 wireless zones out of the box.
The GE/Networx NX-8 will handle 48 wireless zones with the NX-448E reciever.
The Honeywell/Ademco Vista 20P will handle 48 wireless zones with the 5881H reciever.
The DSC power series panels will each handle at least 32 zones with their wireless reciever module.
Those are the quick and easy ones. There are similar offerings from most major brands.
The main difference is the features and degree of installer and end user friendly features you get. Some of these panels are very flexible (and correspondingly complicated in initial setup). Of the lot, the wireless tech used by the Honeywell and GE systems is the better regarded.
