Hi there,

I'm going to put laminate in my basement. The floor is cement and though it has no real high or low spots, it's about as smooth as a calm sea. I have depressions and elevations up to 1/4" everywhere. My thought is that I'm going to need to use that low viscocity self levelling compound. The room is 12 X 17 and I was wondering what sort of pitfalls I'm going to have to take into consideration when doing this, and is there some other way I should be considering. The flooring manufacturer says to not get amped up over anything 3/16's and less, it's just that the floor is so undulating around, and just over that limit, I think that it just has to be leveled somehow. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
