I have 3 A/C units that require those pumps to discharge the evaporative water to the outside of the house.
They all have a gooey light brown scum in them that requires cleaning out. This is very labor intensive as each A/C unit is a long way (and thus - a long discharge line) from an outside exit.
Wondering what causes the scum and how can I avoid it???

Every now and then put a little clorox in the pump pan. Use a shope vac and suck on the lines outside.
