I am putting my freshly bored 1979 briggs 16hp single back together and have a question. There is an external counter balancer on the engine. There are no timing marks for this balancer. I have three books that say nothing about its placement. I figure put the piston at TDC and put the balancer down. So when the piston is up the balancer is down( piston down-balancer up), Make sence? I have rebuilt LOTS of engines before I have never seen one with absolutly no instructions on balancer placement. Has anyone rebuilt one of these engines that can help me out? I am only looking for responces from someone with experience with this engine. Thanks
