We had some painting done about a month ago in an extra room in the house. I've noticed on the wood floor near the baseboards some dried oil paint speckles (a fair amount of them...almost like an overspray even though a brush was used). Is there anything that would be a safe removal agent to get this oil paint off tthe wood floors? Thanks.

If the floor is polyurethane sealed. You may just want to try using some water and a plastic knife and gently scrapping it off. Or just your finger nails. I would be careful using solvents like mineral spirts on the floor as it could damage the finish.

Now if its urethane sealed. You can do the above and if that doesnt do the trick. You can use mineral spirts. Although it will remove some of the finish, you can easily reapply. It may not match and you may have to do the whole area to get it to 100% but it will work.
