I am going to install laminate in my living room and formal dining. The house is one story and is on a slab foundation, I would like to know what product is the best underlayment I can get for sound reduction(hollow sound). I think I am going to buy the Quick-Step I think 8 mil laminate that is in individual planks beveled on each side.I am just having a hard time deciding on the underlayment because every place I look at the flooring they say there's is best. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks :wall:

if your installing quick step go for the quick step unisound
its the white padding. definately the best padding i have ever layed for sound. much better than their teal stuff.
