Where I live Benjamin Moore gets about $12 for quart of Regal. They used to sell Super Spec in quarts but I guess that's discontinued. I know they have the color samples but the selection is very limited.

I had heard that K-Mart? sells a cheaper version of the Benjamin Moore product. Do they or any else use the equivalent of the BM color chart and sell quarts?

I suppose I could take the BM chip in but I have had very bad results with the operators in the low end stores.

My wife is impossible to please and one time I think I bought 8 quarts for testing and in the end they all get covered anyhow.

By the way, the last time I did a color test with Super Spec eggshell on the wall when it dried I though they screwed up and gave me me flat. The difference between Super Spec and Regal is obvious in terms of build thickness, surface quality and it's probably half a sheen level down as compared to Regal. And Super Spec is probably a better paint than most!

I have heard some pro painters say that BM products are worth it for oil based but probably not for latex and I don't necessarily agree.
