I'm installing a ceiling light in my kitchen. The old one I'm replacing was a twin-tube flourescent light, which I have already taken out. All I need to know is what wire configuration I need. The new light fixture has a black and white wire (along with the bare ground wire); the ceiling fixture has a red wire, several light brown wires together, and several black wires together. The flourescent light's black wire was attached to the red wire, and it's white wire was attached to the light brown wires; the black wires were simply tied off with a wire nut. Thanks so much for any help you can give me!!

Connect the new fixture the same way the old fixture was connected.

That worked- thank you. I was just concerned that perhaps the old flourescent light was wired differently from a standard light. Thanks again!
