Hello. We have recently moved flat, and the new flat has a nice solid hardwood floor in the living room. However someone has made a few nasty burn holes on it. One in particular is about 2cm x 1cm (3mm deep).
I'm guessing there's no way to fix this other than removing the offending piece and replacing it? Am I right?

Probably not. You may be able to remove a board from a closet and replace it without having to refinish it. Then install a new board back in the closet so if the finish is off a little, no ones going to see it.

unfortunately all the boards are exposed in the room, no closets etc...
I guess a well placed rug will have to do for now.
