Hi,

I have removed the "popcorn" off a bedroom ceiling. I want to retexture it with a knockdown texture. Now that the popcorn is off, do I have to prime it before I texture it? If so, do I have to prime it again after I texture it before I paint it or can I just paint over the texture without priming again?

Thanks.

IMO there is no need to prime before texturing. The only exception is if there are stain issues. Usually you can get by with 1 good coat of paint over the texture although priming is always best. I would definetly prime bath room ceilings.
