First off, thank you for this forum. It has been a great help to me installing my security system. I have installed a DSC 832, zone expander, and two LCD keypads. The system works, but I have trouble indicator of 1, 4 (General System Tamper). I can not find what this means and how to correct. Thanks for any information.

Check your zone expander. I think that they have a set of tamper terminals that have to have a jumper or a normally closed switch.

I found on another forum how to fix the General System Tamper on a DSC security system. The error apparently occurs when you have installed a zone expander. I added a PC5108 eight zone expander to mine. Step by step fix as follows:
1. On your 5108 zone expander module, you will notice a terminal at the far left marked with "TAM". This is the tamper terminal.
2. Connect the TAM terminal to the first "COM" common terminal with a wire.
3. Problem solved.
It took me longer to find a suitable gauge wire laying around the house than it did to wire it in and fix the problem. I've been dealing with that stinking yellow Trouble light for months and just 1 minute of work and it's fixed. Finally!
