I recently had my A/C system upgraded. I have an addition on my house, and when the A/C system was installed, I had then A/C guys add vents to the addition, which they added to the main part of the A/C duct system.

Unfortunately, this does not keep the addition as cool as I would like. I recently purchased some 6" duct fans, but I am not sure how to wire them into the system. I have a rheem air handler, and there is an extra set of wires that are hot while the fan is running, and they are labeled as the low-speed fan wires. They have 208 volts on them, and the fans I bought are 120v, 4A. I would like to add three, maybe four of these fans.

The question would be, add a relay to control the fans, or what? Is there a standard for adding a 120v relay using house wiring? Is there a better way?

Thanks,

-Kevin

those fans will not increase volume, only speed. take them back and have somebody re-do you ductwork and make sure it's sized properly.

I agree with Tin, these fans don't do much other than hassle of wires, and noise.
