Hello Everyone: I have a Sears garage door opener, now the battery died in the first remote ( I have two the same) and I decided to change Both Batteries, Now when I programmed the first one to open the garage door it worked Great, but when I programmed the Second one, it cancelled out the first one and then only the Second one worked.
How do I program both of them so they both work, without cancelling out each other? Thanks Tom

Hmmm, this one's a little out of the topic area for this forum. I suspect that there's something buried in the owners manual. Since it's a Sears model, you shouldn't have any trouble finding the manual online. The Sears website is pretty good, and they offer electronic copies of most of their branded hardware. You just need the exact model number which should be on the nameplate.
I'll copy this thread over to the electric appliance forum, maybe someone there has a better clue for you.

Ok, I will hopefully remember where you moved it. But anyway I do have the manual and I did exactly as instructed for adding a Remote. As mentioned I added the first remote according to instructions and the remote worked perfectly but whenever I progam the second remote, then that one will work perfectly but the first one stops working.
Why can't I progam two at once?
Hopefully someone on this forum as programmed two remotes for there garage door opener before and can tell me whats going on??

The different brands and models of door openers program differently. The answer for even a Sears from a different model run than yours may be different. If I had to guess, there's likely one step different between setting up just one remote, and setting up multiple.
If anyone responds in the forum I copied to, it will ping your email just like this forum.

Thank you: If I understood you correctly, you are thinking these are two different models of remotes.
They are the original same two remotes that came with the original garage door operner.
All I did was change the batteries in both.
This must be something simple that I am doing wrong, I am sure there are other models of openers that have two remotes and people have to be able to program them when the batteries die?
PS: I wonder if it is possible to program both at the same time somehow??

No, you did not understand me correctly. I am saying that there is no universal procedure. The model of door opener produced a year before or after the one you have might have a substantially different setup procedure. Not knowing the model number, I couldn't even look at the instructions to see if there's a footnote or appendix with regard to your issue.

The manual is at a friends house, whom I will be visiting this weekend and will let you know the exact model number. Thanks
