Sorry if this is been discussed a few times, but I think my situation is a little unique and I would definately appreciate any input. Here's what I have going on.

There is no air coming out of my vents. No air with either the AC, the heater, or just the fan running. The outside unit turns on fine, the unit in my attic turns on fine, but it does sound like something is a little different....may just be the fact that I dont' hear air coming out of the vents.

I checked my filter and it was pretty dirty...been about 4 months since I changed it last. The larger copper line from my outside unit has ice on it. Currently I have the filter entirely removed and I'm just letting it sit... I'm in AZ and it's still 100+ degrees outside even at night so it should thaw out quickly. There is currently a fair amount of water dripping from my drain pipe, but it is also fairly humid today since it rained all lastnight. I hope I've given enough of a description to get a diagnosis. Any appreciation would be greatly appreciated. I have a large party planned for labor day tomorrow) and will have to cancel it if I don't this resolved. Thanks in advance.

just an update if it helps,

in the 2 hours I've been browsing this forum along with others my AC has been turned off. I just turned my fan on briefly and there is some airflow from my vents now. It doesn't feel as strong as it usually is, but it's promising. Hopefully if I let it rest until tomorrow all will be well...??

You've probably fixed your problem by replacing the dirty filter. A dirty filter causes a lack of airflow across the coil thus making it freeze over totally.

Problem fixed...easily. I probably would have called an AC guy if I hadn't read this forum first. Thanks for saving me the money.
