Decorating and Design - Style question - do I paint A/C vent in ceiling white or trim color?

This is a purely style question...

Since I have none, I think I'll ask...

I'm painting my daughter's room. Walls are light pink, ceiling is white, all trim (wood trim, windows, doors) will be dark pink. In the middle of the ceiling is an A/C vent. I removed it so I can paint it separately as it is currently natural plastic color (sort of off-white). Should I use my glimmering white ceiling paint on it, or paint it dark-pink like all the trim?

Dark pink would match the trim, but it would really make the vent stand out against that glimmering white ceiling paint
I suspect your daughter would appreciate a more subtle approach
I'm thinking in this case go with the glimmering white ceiling paint on the vent to blend it in more

Be sure to use enamel, it will make the vent more cleanable. I also vote for the white - unless you want the vent to stand out. :)

I usually paint those the same colour as the surface it is mounted on. IN your case, it should be white.

Make that 4 votes for white. Like em, I always make it the same as the surface its mounted on. If that surface is papered, I paper the vent.

Its unanimous for the ceiling white.

I'd add that I usually shoot these with some rattlecan oil primer (kilz, coverstain, etc.) first, then paint them out with the finish color. Helps adhesion big-time.

an A/C vent is definitely something you DON'T want accentuate & draw attention to. make it disappear/blend in by painting it white like the ceiling. :thumbup: (as if one more opinion was even necessary! :rolleyes: )
