Hi after replacing a tile floor , the flange (not sure if that is the right name) is a little shy of the new floor level.

I am wondering if stacking a thin wax ring (just wax) on top of the new wax ring would be ok.

I am not suggesting it would be best practise just wondering would it work.

I am not a big fan of doubling wax seals as sometimes they slide and create more problems. A flange extender would be a better solution. They come in different thicknesses for making up the space. They have an adhesive on one side to seal it against the existing flane. They MUST be screwed down to the existing flange using the holes in both the extender and the original flange. I have included a link showing a picture of one. Scroll down to the next to last picture in the link. They call it a PVC Closet flange spacer ring. You can find these at home centers also.
