I recently took on a job for a freind as a maintenance person for her aprtment complex. It seems the previous maintenance man wasnt the best at hanging doors. (neither am i).He has hung a bunch of prehung doors, and It seems as if all the jamb legs are twisted one way or another to where the top (opposite of hinges) is hanging inward and down. Would it be best for me to pull the whole door frames and start over? When you speak of plumbing the door.. exactly what does that mean? And last could you please tell me the steps to hanging a prehung door or refer me to a page that list's them.. Thanks so much guys!

I'm guessing that removing the doors and starting over might be your best bet... due to the fact that, if he did it right, you have nails through the door shims that were supposed to level the doors in the first place.
I'm sure there is a good web site (try Lowe's - they have a few DIY project pages) with more accurate information than I could put down.... But for starters....
remove the door from the pre-hung frame. level the top of the door frame evenly in the door opening, using shims between the wall frame and door frame. Nail in place, leaving the heads available to remove and reset. Double check that your top frame is level.
shim the sides of the frame, one at a time - using a square and level to ensure the top corners are square - and vertical sides are "vertical. Again, nail through the shims, leaving the heads of the nails exposed for adjustment purposes.
Double check your frame for square and level. Have a cup of coffee.... Triple check your frame for square and level - If good - attach the door to the hinges and check the fit/swing (remember your nail heads are sticking out and will mar the edges of the door if you slam it shut.
If everything checks out good... go ahead and set your nails. Countersink the heads and finish your work.
Takes me about an hour to set a door.... but I'm slow and drink a lot of coffee... unless, of course, it's after 9a.m.
