3M Booth Coat! I had never heard of it before. It's used in the automotive industry to spray on the walls so that they can be washed clean every so often. Some painters use it to spray on things they don't want to get overspray on. It's a thin washable film that just hoses off (perhaps with a little elbow grease if it got a lot of overspray), or powerwashes off, in the case of a paint booth.

I'm in the process of priming, painting, and staining, sealing, finishing a bunch of Pella casement windows. Found out from some other Pella painters that they spray the Booth Coat onto the exterior side of the window so that it's less masking and easier to clean off any overspray. We'll see how I like it when I go to wash the windows off. Anyone else ever use it?

Is this any better or easier than using a razor blade to remove overspray?

Since one guy will be able to go around and power wash all 20 windows in 20 minutes or less, and have them be just as clean as they were when we took them out of the shrink wrap, I'd have to say yes!

Besides, the Booth Coat got sprayed on the entire exterior of the sash, including the aluminum cladding. I wouldn't want to use a razor blade on that!
