I need to replace our toilet tank because it has a crack. The make is Crane, and I believe the capacity is around 20 litres....... but it seems all the stores carry now are the 6 litre and 13 litre. What I'm wondering is:

- Can I keep the same toilet bowl, but get a new tank that is a different capacity? I'd like to buy the 6 litre tank (to replace the cracked 20 litre).

- If I keep the Crane bowl, can I buy a tank that is a different brand? Are all brands pretty much interchangable?

Thanks for any advice.

I would say they are pretty much the same. As long as the mounting holes line up, you should be fine. The water saver tanks are standard now. Only thing I would wonder about is if the water saver bowls are a different configuration for the decrease in flushing power. Good luck.
