have a window a/c 110 volts. runs fine for about a hour then the motor/condensor? cuts off and the fan blows alone. then the motor tries to kick back and then you hear a low hum then back to the fan. this happens about two times then the a/c trips up the circuit breakers. its to hot to have a 50 pound fan. please help. im pretty handy but a newbie to a/c.

More than likely the capacitor is going out or the compressor is going out. Capacitors for window units can get pricey and depending on the age and size "btu" of the unit you may be better off buying a new one as cheap as they are these days.
How soon does it try to re-start after it shuts off ??? It may also just be a dirty condensor and the compressor is cycling on overload from overheating.
