g'day y'all. i'm hoping somebody can give me a heads up here. i have a moen single-handle control on my shower/bath with the gate diverter in the faucet. the diverter was shot the other day, so i replaced the faucet with a new one. now i have slow leak coming out of the faucet. :wall: it doesn't drip steadily, rather it saves up the water and it trickles out every 30 seconds. i realize that it is probably not the faucet, but in the controls for the shower. is this a good guess? i want to take the controls apart, but i can't get the bloody handle of the tap. i can't see any screws, etc holding it in place. it's a single piece, clear knob. do i just yank it off? seems rather violent. any help would be appreciated. cheers.

Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Most handles have a cap that can be popped off to access a screw to remove the handle. If not, then an allen screw on the side. I have included Moens website and toll free number. This may help you. Good luck.

thanks for the advice. what can i say? i'm an idiot. i looked for the cap for 20 minutes. as i'm reading your reply, my wife laughs at me and walks in with the cap in her hands. i couldn't see the seam with the clear knob. :o anyways, am i safe to assume that the problem with the leak lies within the cartridge assembly? i just want to be sure before ripping it apart. cheers.

Thats the best bet. Make sure that when you remove the cartridge, you watch the way it is installed (top from bottom) so you re-install it correctly. Magic marker a dot on the top before removing. Moens website should show all the parts involved.

alright, i got the old cartridge out and replaced it. i made sure to install the new cartridge the same way as the old one, but now the hot and cold water is reversed. do i fix this simply by removing the cartridge and rotating it 180 degrees? if not, what do i do?

180 degrees off, I guess it is in upside down. By all means, turn it over.

I'm glad you figured out how to reverse the H/C. It's easy, and these Moen's were specifically designed to do just that. It is a convenience for installers when doing back to back showers.
