This is something you can do. You will need a soldering iron, about 40 watts, from Radio Shack $20.00. Some solder, same place $1.50, desoldeing wick ( I think RS has this but if not a local electronics parts house will.) and basic hand tools. Remove unit from power, spkrs etc. Open the case (can) with four to six screws around the outside. Look at the face plate, at the side should be 2 to 4 screws holding the face on, possibly a couple across the bottom. Remove those, gently pull the face back watching for the ribbon cables. Look for the screws, usually gold and probably 8 to 10 of them, holding the PCB to the face plate. Remove the PCB, Gently... The "grain of wheat" (from RS also) bulbs could be located to either side of the LCD or underneath it. Inspect area till you find them. If you have to remove the LCD panel, be carefull and watch how it comes off so as not to put it back on upside down. This is where the desoldering wick comes in, with a hot iron lay the D/S wick on the joint and lay the iron on the wick. The wick will soak up the solder & you will have to move the wick up till all the solder at the joint is picked up. If you need a quick learning course on how to solder let me know. It's easy but has a trick or two. Any Q's let me know.
