I'm in the process of building and wanted a pedestal sink in my 1/2 bath. However, the plumbing that is exposed is regular pipes and I want to change it or find a way to hide it. Help please.

Not sure what you mean by "regular pipes". Pedestal sinks use the same standard plumbing as all other sinks. Only difference is that the riser pipe to the drain is hidden in the pedestal portion of the sink. Good luck and reply back if there are further questions.

When I say regular, I mean pvc pipes. The thing is my fixtures are chrome and the pvc is very much exposed. Do you know of a way to change it to maybe chrome or even steel? If not can I paint it so it blends in better?

Normally there is a nut at the wall where the 1-1/4" pipe from the sink to the main drain in the wall. This nut is a reducing nut from 1-1/4 to 1-1/2". Actually the gasket/washer in the nut is a reducer. You could replace the PVC with chrome pipe. If the nut is not there, you will have to cut the PVC and glue an adapter on it and go from there. The new chrome pipe should come with the nut and a RUBBER washer. Neoprene washers (in my opinion) do not seem to seal as well on chrome.
