We recently bought a stainless steel refrigerator that was delivered covered in some sort of shrink-wrap from the factory. The usual stainless steel cleaners are not taking it off, and a recommendation of water-based Goof Off is not working too well either. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I use BonAmi to get bugs off my car windshield and the label claims it "hasn't scratched yet." To be safe, I would try rubbing a little of it in an inconspicuous place first. I paid 58 cents at walmart for the last can I bought.

Try glass cleaner. Just a tip do not use any acidic pH cleaner on stainless it will pit the surface.

A solvent cleaner will remove tape residue. Rubbing alcohol is usually pretty handy. Denatured alcohol, dry cleaning fluid, WD-40, or other solvent will work. Give cleaner time to soften residue.
