hi all i want to build a room in the back of my house. for pool tabel big tv & wetbar guy stuff.the space is about 12 feet wide & 25 feet long.foundtion is 1st right do i use 4by4s in the grond with cement. or piar blocks if so how deep do i dig...thanx

Hi almo.
It all depends on where you are located, and what your frost depth is. Usually your local county building inspector can give you those specifications. If you don't have one, just call some carpenter you know in the area and ask what depth footings need to be at.
If the room is going to be on ground level, and have a poured cement floor, your best bet would be to dig a trench around your exterior walls (below frost) and pour a footing, then either block up a foundation wall or form and pour it. If it's going to be heated, you will want to put plastic and foam board down inside the walls and pour your floor. Judging by the size of your room, you could do a monolithic pour, which basically means "all at once", the walls and the floor at the same time. Once your slab is poured, you will put anchor bolts into the wet cement so that your treated sill plate (the bottom of your exterior walls) will have something to bolt to.
Your first step should be to check with your local building inspector because the last thing you want to have happen is that you get started and find out that something you did needs to be completely torn out and changed.
