First I have to say I read Colors 101 and I never thought of picking colors that way. Amazing and I'm going to try it with my bathroom.
Well, I just gutted my bathroom, lime green tile was too much for me. It is a small bathroom, will have tub/shower/surround in white, pedestal sink, toilet. Has one window. I am going to tile the floors only. NO MORE TILE. :)
Anyway,I am thinking of putting a wood, (probably white) molding around the middle of the walls and paint different shade on top and bottom of wall. What would be good, top lighter than bottom?
Thanks!!

generally, the darker color goes on bottom & the lighter on top. but in a small room, chopping it into 2 halves like that will only serve to make it look even smaller & busier. better to go all one color floor to ceiling & use accessories to jazz it up.
a chair rail moulding really has no place in a bathroom anyway. if you're insistent on doing something different on bottom, at least choose something that makes sense functionally, like beadboard paneling or tile. and don't cut the room exactly in half - either go a foot lower or higher (at the 3' or 5' point in a room with 8' ceilings).

thanks Annette, I think I'll go one color all around. I appreciate your advice.
