We just moved into a new house where the old owners put up wallpaper in almost every room. And it's bad. Terrible, tacky, what-made-them-think-THAT-looked-good kind of stuff. So now it's time to face the music and remove the old paper and repaint. So far, I've done one small room, and it went okay, no surprises. But it was just time-consuming, messy, and boring work. I am not looking forward to doing the rest of the house.

I've read all the posts I could find here about wallpaper removal, but I haven't seen this question answered: are there any special tricks or tools the pros use to remove paper when they're dealing with a whole house, not just a few rooms? Any time saving or effort saving tips?

Thanks in advance,

Not really anything different than the norm. We have used (only a few times) a truck mounted sprayer system that puts out huge volumes of water. Picture a lawn service truck, with a tank/pump mounted on back. But this was only for a large commercial job, where there were wide open spaces, and no concern for the flooring.

All I can suggest is keep plowing on, and soon you will develop a system, and it will go faster/more efficient.

Try to score the paper real good, then apply a remover to the paper. Let it soak for 20 to 30 minutes. It should scrape off easy.
