my toilet all of a sudden started making an awful noise after you flush. It started with loud clanging noise then a whistling noise. What is wrong? Help!

hartline, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
I would say that your fill-valve has failed. I suggest replacing it with a Fluidmaster 400A fill-valve. They are about $6 and have great installation instructions. Good luck.
