Hello all,
I have a Brinks exterior door lock and the lock knob on the inside is backwards from other locks I have worked with. The knob is vertical and that is unlocked. Horizontal and is locked. I could not reverse the positioning. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help/suggestions.

My familiarity is with Schlage and Kwikset and not with Brinks, but you are stuck with the posistion of the knob with both of those. Schlage is like what you are describing, Kwikset is opposite.

Sometimes anomolies like this are the result of making door locks non-handed. Things like key rotation sometimes are reverse depending on whether your door is left hand or right hand. Probalby nothing can be done. Contact Brinks for instructions.
