I have a 24" sink cabinet and an (approx) 20" x 21" single bowl, drop-in sink with no deck for the faucet. Although the fit is fine side to side, because there is a piece across the front/top extending about 4" into the cabinet, there will be no room to put the faucet behind the sink!
I noticed while demolishing my old kitchen that this piece had been cut to make the old standard double sink fit into that cabinet so I was wondering if it was okay to do the same this time. I would probably have to cut about 1.5 to 2 inches out of it.

Thanks for your help! :)

diymiss,

Yep, it is OK to cut this - use a sabre saw but try and leave some of this 4" strip.

If not, please be carefull not to rattle everything on it as it is stapled and/or glued to the cabinet face frame. You're going to need room to install the sink to countertop fasteners.

Good Luck!
