i'm laying laminate over plywood. i cut the laminate peices so they overlap the plywood. how long should i wait after gluing the laminate strips on before trimming with a laminate trimmer. the glue is contact cement.

You need to wait until the contact cement is dry. So, from the instant you press those two glued surfaces together, you needn't wait at all.
