I purchased a new vanity and sink counter top for the bathroom. 24” vanity with a 25” sink top. The sink top fits on top of the vanity but in some placed there is no contact. Do I just use an adhesive at those contact points or should I notch the vanity to fit the sink top better??

For cultured marble tops, I run a bead of clear silicone along the entire mating suface.
I then caulk in the top along the back wall with dap. Depending on several factors, matching side splash(es) may be installed with just a dab of liquid nail and DAP caulking
For laminate tops, I use a 1 1/4" screw at each corner through the corner brace of the vanity into the bottom of the laminate top. I'll caulk in the lav and caulk the top to the wall. Same as above for matching side splash(es).
More questions, ask and someone will answer you. Good luck...
