My home is wired with aluminum. We just received a light fixture wired with copper. Is it ok to connect these directly or is there a problem with connecting copper to aluminum?

Buy the special wire nuts for copper/aluminum connection. They're a few bucks each, but that's a small price to pay to avoid a fire.
